Tea is the magical drink that can refresh our mind and body within a second, no matter what reason it is. The history of drinking tea became popular since its discovery in China. But have we ever been curious to know about the different tea types before selecting the perfect tea for us?
The time has come to know the different tea types, as tea is more being the only refreshment.
Before talking about different tea types, let me tell something about this wonderful evergreen plant called Camellia Sinensis.
This plant is native to Asia and grows in tropical and sub-tropical climates all over the word.
Types of Camellia Sinensis
There are mainly two types of tea plants from which different tea types are produced around the world.
- Camellia Sinensis var. Sinensis: It is a smaller-leafed plat and native to China. The plant has the tolerance capacity for cold and has the ability to survive and grow in mountainous regions.
- Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica: It is a larger-leafed plant native to Assam, a state in India. It grows in warm and moist climate and it is suitable for cultivation in sub-tropical regions.
There are mainly five basic tea types-
